JOSME’s Cool Black Interior Paint is a modified eco-friendly acrylic emulsion that results in a confirmed LRV of 0-5 pure black finish for commercial spaces. The coating delivers Delta E <0.5 colour constancy from batch-to-batch, resists sheen formation in heavy traffic areas and satisfies ultra-low VOCs at under 50 g/L. The recommended application rate is 0.2-0.25 kg/㎡. It is engineered for luxury shops, exhibition halls, creative offices and production studios where colour accuracy is a project need.
Cool Black Interior Paint is a high density architectural coating for areas where colour accuracy and long term surface consistency are essential. Standard dark paints generally fail in three distinct ways: metamerism (colour change between 2700K warm and 5000K daylight sources), burnishing (sheen development from physical contact), and inadequate opacity that requires extensive recoating.
JOSME’s formulation tackles all of these head-on. Sub-micron carbon black pigments give an LRV between 0 and 5. They absorb light rather than reflecting it and offer the deep, low-reflectance finish necessary for professional commercial use.

True black verified: Delta E <0.5 batch to batch, no seams apparent on huge walls.
High opacity Two layers over grey primer hide lighter substrates Saving material and time
Burnish Resistance: Matte finish prevents shine from touch, ideal for stores and hallways.
Neutral under mixed lighting: It reads neutral black on 2700K and 5000K light.
Inhibits mildew & algae: Active biocides stop development in damp, low-ventilation areas.
Ultra-low VOC, APEO-free: Below 50 g/L, suitable for occupied spaces during fit-outs.
Luxury retail & branded showrooms: Deep black walls high contrast displays. Burnish resistance ensures surface cleanliness from shopping and maintenance touch.
Exhibition halls & art galleries Low sheen, low LRV walls decrease reflection and increase the visual contrast. No tonal fluctuation between panels : delta E consistency
Creative workplaces and co-working spaces: Black ceilings and feature walls easily hide and retain the look. 0.2-0.25 kg/㎡ makes material manageable across huge ceilings.
Home theatres & screening rooms: Ultra-low LRV lowers peripheral light dispersion for improved screen contrast.
Photography & production studios: dead-flat black on cycloramas stops bounce light and chromatic interference for precise imaging.

Colour consistency – Delta E <0.5: Each batch assessed by spectrophotometer; Samples preserved for cross-batch comparison.
Burnish resistance: Verified matte finish that does not produce a shine after contact-simulation testing.
Dry film surface quality. High pigment load can lead to orange peel or micro-bubbling. In-process and post-production inspection targets these before distribution.
All runs are submitted to three levels of quality control.

Q: Why does black paint seem blue or brown in some lights?
A: Metamerism due to imbalance of pigment undertones. The formula of JOSME is balanced to neutral black in the light of 2700K and 5000K for the tested pigments.
Q: How many coats for complete coverage on white?
A: Two topcoats over a grey toned primer (P5 or P6) will give complete depth. Without primer, you might require 3 or more applications and coverage can be patchy.
Q: When is the surface usable for normal activities?
A: Will dry to touch in approx. 2 hrs. High pigment load leads to a full cure including burnish resistance of 21-28 days. Plan your cleaning and furniture placement accordingly.
Q. Is this good for humid environments?
A: This mildew and algae resistant solution is great for areas with restricted airflow. If you need to use it over 80% RH please contact us to check appropriateness.
Q: Do you recommend primer?
A: Grey-scaled primer at P5 or P6 coverage minimises topcoat demands, and provides full colour depth. White primer usage may rise and compromise consistency.
