Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer

• Composed of polymer emulsions and multifunctional additives, specifically designed for substrate reinforcement. It features excellent permeability; once applied to the substrate, it undergoes a secondary reaction to form a highly impermeable, water-resistant, and reinforced layer, thereby increasing the hardness of the substrate.
• Performance Characteristics:
- Effective at binding loose particles (sand-fixing).
- Strong permeability, providing deep, thorough reinforcement for concrete and mortar.
- High solids content; water-based formula is environmentally friendly.
• Scope of Application:
Suitable for surface treatment of concrete, aerated concrete, and plaster layers; for reinforcing substrates prior to waterproofing or tile installation; and for addressing issues such as loose sand on walls or floors, chalking/powdering of putty layers, or reinforcing concrete surfaces after the removal of putty.
• Application Conditions:
- The substrate must be solid, clean, and free from oil, wax, concrete curing agents, or any other loose debris.
- The concrete surface reinforcement agent is ready to use upon opening. Apply 1–2 coats to the substrate using a roller or brush. Proceed to the next stage of construction only after the product has dried completely.
Product Description

Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer — Deep Penetration, Sand-Fixing & Substrate Stabilization

Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer is a polymer emulsion-based substrate conditioner made to stabilize porous, friable, degraded mineral surfaces. Ultra-fine polymer particles penetrate 3–5mm into capillary structures of concrete, plaster and masonry, forming a secondary reinforcing layer to seal the substrate from inside out. This water-based, low-VOC product works on concrete, aerated concrete, plaster walls, putty layers and floor substrates for renovation and new build projects.

What Is Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer?

The Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer is a surface conditioner that penetrates deeply and is composed of polymer emulsion and multifunctional additives.. Chemical consolidation occurs within the substrate upon application, resulting in the formation of a reinforcing layer that enhances water resistance, sealing performance, and surface hardness. It establishes a stable foundation for flooring systems, tile, or topcoats.

The material is able to penetrate the substrate due to its low viscosity, as opposed to forming a thin film on the surface. This distinguishes it from conventional surface primers.

Three Core Product Advantages

1. Sand-Fixing Performance: Locks fine particles to prevent the surface from crumbling, sanding substrates, powdering putty layers, and dusting floors by binding loose, dusty, and powdery surfaces.

2. Deep, Inside-Out Reinforcement: The internal structure of the substrate is fortified prior to the application of the varnish by ultra-fine polymer particles and low viscosity, which penetrate 3–5 mm into the substrates rather than forming a surface film.

3. Water-Based, Low-VOC Formula: Offers minimal odour during application and low VOC levels; suitable for domestic home renovation and occupied building refurbishment.

Suitable Substrate Conditions

This reinforcing primer is designed for problematic substrates that cannot receive paint or tile directly. It can be used on:

Wall sanding and floor sanding — surfaces that release dust or powder when touched Putty layer powdering — loose putty with low cohesion Concrete after putty removal — exposed, rough or porous concrete Low-hardness top putty layers — soft surfaces needing consolidation before renovation Poor-bonding inferior mortar substrates — surfaces with weak inter-layer adhesion Interface treatment layers — between concrete, aerated concrete, and plastering

For floor works, it also serves as preparatory coating before waterproofing systems or tile installation.

application

Application Scenarios

Old House Renovation: Seals walls that are weak, powdered, or flaking prior to painting or puttying to prevent delamination.

Industrial Floor Pretreatment: Establishes a more robust mechanical bond by preparing porous concrete for epoxy/polyurethane topcoats.

Coastal and high-humidity environments: Extends the service life of the coating system by reducing moisture and saline intrusion.

Masonry & Heritage Restoration: Reduces inter-layer separation by consolidating fragile lime-based substrates prior to the application of topcoats.

Quality Control Process

JOSME implements batch quality control for this product, which encompasses four critical inspection points:

Subsurface infiltration is verified through dye tracing during penetration depth testing. Adhesion Strength Testing: ASTM D4541 pull-off testing at >1.5 MPa Efflorescence Resistance Testing: This test measures the blocking effect of migrating salts. Polymer film remains stable at pH 12+, as evidenced by alkali and saponification resistance testing.

Before shipment, each batch undergoes raw material incoming inspection, in-process monitoring, and finished product testing.

FAQ

Q1: The wall releases powder on touch. Can I skip the reinforcing agent and apply latex paint directly?

A1: It is not advisable to apply direct painting over a loose, powdery substrate. There is a possibility that paint film will separate due to its inability to adhere securely. Before applying topcoats, apply Diamond Wall Reinforcing Primer to consolidate porous surfaces.

Q2: How long should I wait after primer application before puttying or tiling?

A2: Wait for full drying and hardening of the primer. Putty or tile work carried out too early will reduce consolidation effect. Drying time changes with site temperature and ventilation.

Q3: Will strong odor occur during application?

A3: The water-based formula creates mild odor only. Normal ventilation is enough during application, and it fits indoor renovation projects.

Q4: Can it be applied on damp walls?

A4: Substrate moisture below 15% is recommended. This water-based product can be used on damp surfaces, but not fully saturated substrates.
