To solve bonding problems with vitrified tiles, natural stone, and large-format porcelain slabs, JOSME created a single-component modified polymer emulsion known as Tile Back Primer. These building materials usually absorb less than 0.5% of water and often have flat back surfaces that are challenging to attach firmly with conventional tile adhesives. This primer penetrates tiny pores on tile backs to provide flexible polymer interface coatings. Tensile bonding performance is effectively enhanced, and the risk of tile falling and long-term hollowing is decreased. The product's solid content is continuously maintained at or above 40%.
Tile Back Primer By passing through the remaining micropores, it produces polymer coatings that provide reliable mechanical and chemical bonding for future tile adhesive. Under normal test circumstances, the total tensile bond strength is more than 1.0 MPa, and the film maintains its stability during cycles of heat ageing and water immersion.

Stable Interface Bonding & Stress Resistance: Modified polymer film promotes bonding between tiles and adhesive. Flexible structure absorbs stress of heat cycling and micro-movement of the structure, decreasing hollowness.
Labour Saving Application: No Soaking of Tiles Required. Simply Apply Primer Wait for Transparent and Tack Free Film and Then Apply Tile Adhesive.
Wide compatibility – Ideal for vitrified tiles, polished marble, natural stone and ceramic tiles. Optimises thick, low-water-absorption materials.
Environmental Suitability: Passed freeze-thaw, wind pressure and impact tests Suitable for use in interior moist spaces and as external cladding
Commercial High-Rise Facades: Large format porcelain exteriors; stabilises the interface under wind and heat stresses, decreasing the likelihood of delamination.
Public infrastructure with high traffic like Tube stations, airports. Flexible film to distribute the stress from vibration.
Wet areas in the home: polished marble and sintered stone, with solid jointing to resist humidity and temperature changes.

JOSME full-process quality management: raw material inspection, production monitoring and final product testing.

Contractors, distributors and procurement teams provide for:
Standard: 2-3 business days. Custom/Private Label: 7-15 business days. • Custom package and label support. Large orders booked in advance. Export-grade reinforced packing to prevent leak and damage.

Q1: Is tile back primer necessary when using standard tile adhesive?
A1: Yes. Common adhesives cannot form effective grip on dense vitrified tiles and natural stone. This primer builds a stable polymer interface layer to improve bonding stability and reduce later hollowing problems.
Q2: What is the interval between primer application and tile laying?
A2: Construction can be started after the primer dries into transparent tack-free film. Under 50% relative humidity, the drying time is 30–60 minutes.
Q3: Can the primer be applied on wet tile backs?
A3: No. Tile backs must be kept clean, dry and free of dust and release agents. Residual moisture will affect normal film formation and weaken bonding performance.
Q4: What tile materials is this primer suitable for?
A4: It applies to vitrified tiles, ordinary ceramic tiles, polished marble and various natural stone materials, especially suitable for low-water-absorption dense building materials.
